Greetings,

JLL just released some eye-opening data on AI in commercial real estate. The share of companies piloting the technology has jumped from just 5% last year to 92% today. While that shows growing enthusiasm, success stories remain rare, with only 5% of respondents saying they’ve met all their goals. It’s a reminder that despite the buzz, commercial real estate is still in the early stages of adopting PropTech, and AI has more to prove before it becomes indispensable.

This week we’re looking at how tech is redefining what makes a building truly smart. From sensors that translate sound into insights about how people collaborate to digital models that replicate how entire systems perform, today’s tools are giving buildings a kind of awareness. They don’t just track or automate—they learn, adapt, and shape spaces around human behavior, showing how buildings are becoming intelligent systems that understand and support us.
