CBRE CEO Bob Sulentic argued that brokerage leads come from “deep knowledge about the occupiers and investors in the marketplace,” not digital prompts, and said the firm expects to cut research costs by about 25% using AI while continuing to expand its brokerage workforce.

Analysts worry that real estate companies are operating “high-fee, labor-intensive business models viewed as potentially vulnerable to AI-driven disruption.” Others cautioned that the market reaction may overstate the immediate impact, leaving the sector caught between defending current operations and racing to integrate the very technology that spooked investors.
