Greetings,

The most interesting story this week has to be PropTech’s first meme stock: Opendoor. The iBuyer has become the latest beneficiary of comedy-induced investment spurred by forums like Reddit’s Wall Street Bets. The company was in danger of being delisted but is now able to use the stock bump to help buy it some time. A high interest rate environment has not been kind to home flipping, Opendoor’s main business model. If the economic situation doesn’t change soon, even this nonsensical stock rally won’t be able to protect the company from its debts.

This week we’re diving into the evolving world of visitor management, in partnership with Cohesion. No one wants to download an app just to find their way around a building. Fortunately, one company has figured out how to deliver precise indoor navigation using only a web browser and a WiFi signal. We’re also taking a closer look at the hidden security flaws inside many visitor management systems and what building owners can do to fix them.

Let’s go!
